Possibly the most important part of the place where I work is the cha bar. It’s THE place for tea of all varieties, they do also do a few other drinks and fruit snacks, but it’s tea that powers the site. I know we’re playing to the English stereotype, but we really do get through a lot of the stuff. Whenever there is a decision to be made or a problem to be solved, the first thing people do is get a cup of tea.
This week they’ve been running a special “loyal tea” (get it?) offer where you get a card stamped for each tea you buy. You can then collect gifts like free teas and various soap products from Dove. Now, I’m not saying I’ve drunk a lot of tea this week, but I am saying I’ve already had:
- 2 * Free Teas
- 1 * “Waffle” Slippers
- 1 * Regenerating Hand Cream
- 1 * Indulging Cream Bath Foam
- 1 * Regenerating Night Lotion
- 1 * Regenerating Calming Night Shower
No, I don’t know what half that stuff is and I don’t know why I need regenerating, but it’s FREE!

Teehee. This really made me giggle!
Comment by Neil Dunn — February 8, 2006 @ 10:59 pmThe regenerating hand cream is for if you cut your hand off. Rub a bit on and *blamo* … new hand!
I’m not sure about the regenerating night lotion. I can think of a few nights that I’d rather not regenerate. Do they make a forget-that-ever-happened night lotion?
Comment by Frank — February 9, 2006 @ 5:02 amWell, I did hear similar comments about what a calming night shower was exactly.
Comment by Darren — February 9, 2006 @ 9:17 amWow. I want waffle slippers. I need to drink more tea. I know it’s much better for you than coffee. But you guys drink it with milk and sugar and stuff. I always scoffed at people when I saw them at Chinese restaurants putting sugar in their Oolong.
What is penny royal tea anyway?
Comment by Penny royal tea — February 10, 2006 @ 1:04 amMilky tea + waffle slippers = crazy delicious.
Comment by roo — February 14, 2006 @ 11:15 am[...] ‘Upstairs’ in Pervasive Messaging, people went for coffee. ‘Downstairs’ in ETS people go for a tea. I assume this is because of the relative proximities of the coffee bar and the Cha Bar. I have finally discovered a taste for tea without sugar. [...]
