They did it with Summer and today I see they’ve done the same with Autumn. iTunes essentials are really bad. How do they make a Autumn mix? Search all songs for words like September, October, November, Autumn, Leaves, Rain and Misty. Brilliant. I can’t wait for the Winter Essentials.
This week has been a whole new learning experience for me, sampling American sweets.
Not only have I had post-tea treats of white chocolate Kit Kats (that aren’t really the same as UK Kit Kats) and Hershey’s chocolate, but I have had the food of the gods which also goes by the name of Sour Patch Kids. I can’t get enough of them. I think we had something similar growing up, but not quite the same.
Maybe Jamie Oliver should get down from his high horse about school dinners and get some of these in. As the packet says, 100% fat free. They’re practically a health food.
Things that happened last week in Westchester County and NYC:
- 5 visits to JFK Airport.
- 1 slightly dented IBM parking barrier.
- 3 morning visits to Dunkin Donuts.
- 6 trips across Whitestone Bridge.
- 2 people watching The OC at the airport.
- 36 hours of IBM meetings.
- 7 bag security inspections.
- 1 delayed FAA “approval to fly” form.

Look at what what my friend Jessica got me…
A bag full of american sweets (I suppose I should say candy) and copies of US Weekly and The National Enquirer. I shall be reading all about Jessica Simpson being dumped before moving on to Britney’s birth detals on the flight home.
Thanks Jessica! |

Currently in New York for some work stuff. We got here a day early so spent Sunday in the city. Pete and Dave hadn’t been up to the top of the Rockefeller Center before, so we did that. Although it isn’t the Empire State building, I prefer it. It’s much slicker, there aren’t long queues and I think the views (especially over Central Park) are better. You also get a good view of the Empire State building.

I’m travelling to New York tomorrow and have been creating a new iPod playlist for the flight. I quite like the new Beyonce song, Deja Vu, so I downloaded it (and the Freemasons remix). I like how she introduces all the instruments before they kick in… “Bass… Hi-Hat… 808…”.
I’m sure loads of songs used to do that, not just Mike Oldfield, who definitely did it on Tubular Bells with loads of weird instruments, I’d never heard of when I was 5, “one slightly sampled electric guitar”… Anyway, I like it, I think more people should start introducing their instruments on their songs.
