The BBC Watches The OC

The best thing about The OC, no wait. The second best thing about The OC is the music, and I think someone in the BBC music department is also a bit of fan. Three or four times in the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed BBC trailers or programme segments that have been put to music that has recently been on the OC (Rock Kills Kid, Sia, Sun Kil Moon and Imogen Heap). They did it twice during the FA Cup games at the weekend.

It could be that they just share similar taste, but it seems a little bit suspicious to me. Not that there’s anything wrong with copying them as that’s pretty much what I have on my iPod at the moment too.

I came to the last page of my work notebook today and found my original plan for my Christmas crossword card. It’s actually not too far different from how it came out.

While I’m on about notebooks, I pointed Dave to the front page off his Black n’ Red notebook today for the information sheet which has time zones (and other useful stuff like the dimensions of a C5 envelope) on. Apart from that, they have really hard covers which mean you can always write on them without a solid surface. Best of all, they’re now in our stationary cupboard.

It was my cousin’s 30th birthday over the Christmas holidays and because it’s a special birthday (and she’s completely great) I made her a card.

I don’t normally like using applications like this (I usually find it easy to do things myself in Flash or Photoshop), but Comic Life is fantastic at doing this kind of thing. The interface is great, it’s a complete dream to use and the built in filters aren’t massively different than some of the expensive Photoshop ones.
