… but, I really hate to see the words “improved recipe” on any food I buy. If you’re already buying something, you’re clearly happy with what it tastes like and was there ever anyone who didn’t like a food product, noticed it had a new recipe and thought they’d try it again? I don’t think so.
I’m somewhat concerned to see the packaging on my all time favourite food. Let’s hope this isn’t a return to the dark period in the early 90s when I made my mum sieve every portion of lentil soup, as the then new “improved recipe” made it somewhat lumpy (they went back to the original recipe after a couple of years). Thankfully my emergency stockpile (you really can’t be too careful) is over ten tins deep, so it’ll be a couple of weeks till I find out.

Does the return of the Wispa bar please you, Darren?

Comment by Darren — August 20, 2007 @ 7:55 pmI remember this happened to me and Doritos. They came out with a “new and improved recipe” which made the chips blander and not crispy. Probably had something to do with trans fats or sodium content, but then again I don’t eat Doritos for the nutritional value. But I guess some people do. (it’s orange, it must be a vegetable!)
Comment by jessica — August 21, 2007 @ 1:29 amIt’s also weird how the same products are slightly different in different countries. US Coke tastes a little different to UK Coke.
Comment by Darren — August 21, 2007 @ 7:25 amI have a personal hatred for anything that claims to be “new and improved”. It can’t be both “new” and “improved”, so which is it? Down with the marketing drones!
